Insiders' story: saigon 3 changed my life

Each comes from a different background but they all find their favorite job, earn respect and have a chance to change their life completely, etc. when joining SG3 Garment Company.

Mr. Nguyen Phuc Hau: We are no longer struggling

Công ty may sài gòn 3 - Anh Nguyễn Phúc Hậu: Vợ chồng tôi hết vất vả như xưa rồi

Before becoming a packaging worker at Hiep Binh Phuoc Factory, Mr. Hau and his wife had spent some years working at a seafood company. The work there was extremely demanding, sometimes they had to work overtime to 2-3AM in the early morning, but the salary was meager and their body always smelled due to the fish. They left the job and applied for SG3 following the recommendation of a friend.

Mr. Hau said up to now, he and his wife have been part of May SG3 for exactly 10 years. The man went from being a logistics worker in labeling, packaging to a leader of a 10-person group. His income ranges from VND 7 to 9 million, much higher and more stable than in the previous seafood company.

What made him stay in SG3 for so long is that the Company always cares for the life of its workers. He said that although at first he did not have the skills and qualifications, the Company still carried out the standard procedure of employment in signing contracts and providing insurance for him, as well as giving him on-the-job training and then a driver's license. His wife also got taken care well when she was on maternity leave, etc.

He said, in May SG3, he's found peace of mind because the job is very stable, so he wants to work here as long as possible and doesn’t want to change his job.

Ms. Hoang Thi Dac: Now I can support my family in the countryside

With a long-time passion for garment crafts, Ms. Hoang Thi Dac and her husband moved from Ha Giang to Ho Chi Minh City to work as a garment worker. Initially, the couple worked in a different garment company, but due to its poor working environment in which workers were not respected, her husband decided to go home. Ms. Dac, however, still persisted in the city with hope and love for the garment work, and then applied for the Minako factory of SG3 Company in October, 2016.

At first, she was a little surprised because of the new environment and new colleagues, but she immediately fell in love with the management: the team leaders are extremely kind and friendly. They always listen to the workers, and they never reprimand or offend workers. She was sure that this is a good place to work and she has dedicated her abilities to the job. She said that her average income is from 8 to over 12 million per month. Excluding her basic living expenses here, she can still send money home to support her two children going to school.

With a smile on her lips, she said that sometimes, when she asks to work for other groups to get some extra income, the team leaders are very supportive and they always give her opportunities to do so.

Ms. Vuong Thi Hong: Striving for 20-million salary

Living a hard life, in 2007, Ms. Hong had to leave her two children back in her hometown in Nghe An to travel to Saigon and apply to work for Minako Garment Factory as a bleaching worker. Her only asset was the Wave RSX, which was stolen soon after, and she had to walk to the workplace every day.

With a strong determination to change her life, she worked hard, always being the earliest to come and the latest to leave the workplace. She said that for the first few months, her salary was just over 3 million dong, but then it gradually rose to over 7 million, 12 million and most recently more than 18 million for bleaching and programmed sewing tasks. She laughed and shared that she has always got the highest salary in her team. Starting from scratch, after 11 years of work, she was able to save enough money to buy herself two small houses and a piece of arable land for pepper crops, providing additional financial support for her family.

When being asked what her secret to achieve such high income is, she replied that it is because she really loves the job here. She even considers SG3 as her second home, and the garment work an indispensible part of her life. She does not mind coming early and leaving late for work; she always works hard and actively in the factory, thanks to a lot of help and encouragement from the board of managers.

Ms. Hong is very forthright in saying she does not intend to be a leader or manager because of her quick temper. She is satisfied with her current job and is striving to get her salary reach 20 million this year.

Ms. Cao Thi Hue: No worries about unemployment or discrimination

Once painfully self-conscious about her disability, for many years Ms. Hue could only apply to work in minor positions in private companies. In 2007, she came across a recruitment posted by SG3 on the newspaper. She and her friend decided to apply despite being unsure of their chances. When getting the answer that "There is no discrimination", and they'll take her in as long as she can do the job, she decided to stay in SG3 for as long as she could.

At work, she was assigned to work in the strand trimming and badge labeling stages. Currently, she is working in the badge labeling area in Hiep Binh Phuoc Factory. As orders and jobs are available regularly, she no longer worries about how to support herself. Her income has also increased, till now it has reached VND 10-11 million per month. Excluding her personal expenses, she can save part of the salary to send to her mother back in her hometown.

Recently, she has been very excited with new machines at the factory, as she could work fewer hours and still ensure productivity and salary. In SG3, she felt warm thanks to the love and support from colleagues and managers. She said with a smile that she hopes she can maintain her good health for a long time to work for SG3 because in here, she never has to worry about being unemployed again.
