21 ORGANIZATIONS AND INVIDUALS COMMENDED IN "PROUD VIETNAM"

The 9th "Proud Vietnam" program in 2011 was successfully organized in the morning of 18 December at Hanoi Opera House, celebrating 21 organizations and individuals who are Heroes of Labor, Heroes of Army and Outstanding Figures of Contribution to the Country in various fields.

7 organizations and 14 individuals commended in the program are all outstanding figures in various fields. They are Heroes of Labor such as Colonel Nguyen Dang Giap, Chairman and General Director of Corporation 36, Ministry of Defense; Mr. Pham Xuan Hong, Chairman of the Board of Directors cum General Director of Sai Gon 3 Garment Company; engineer Nguyen The Trinh, technical commander in constructing Son La hydroelectric power plant; Viettel Telecom Company; Dong Phu Rubber Company, etc. In the fight against crime and protection of political security, social stability and safety, there is Major Nguyen Duc Cuong; Lieutenant-Commander of the Border Guard Force Vu Trong Hai; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, head of crime prevention club in Thu Dau Mot Town (Binh Duong), etc. Besides, there are also ordinary people with remarkable feats such as fishermen Mai Phung Luu on Ly Son island (Quang Ngai) who persist in living on the Hoang Sa archipelago despite dangers; Tran Van Truyen (Da Nang) who, at the age of 14, rescued eleven victims and recovered eight bodies in the shipwreck in the waters of Bai Ham, at the foot of Hai Van Pass.

All organizations and individuals celebrated in the "Proud Vietnam" program are awarded medals and flowers by President Truong Tan Sang and the organizing board of the program.
